Thermoplasty
Thermoplasty is a form of pavement marking used as an alternative to paint-striping for heavy traffic areas. It is applied using a heat-bonded application process.  It is used on interstate highway and at intersections on public thoroughfares for things such as arrows, stripe stripes and crosswalk bars.  This product is expected to have a lifespan of 5-7 times the lifespan of paint.

Paint vs. Thermoplasty Comparison.  We ran into this job done by another contractor a few years back at the Factoria Mall. It's a mystery why they would have done it this way, but it showcases nicely how the thermoplasty lasts much longer after the paint starts to fade away.
