About Rainier

Founded in 2000, Rainier Asphalt & Concrete is a leading pavement contractor in the Puget Sound region. We provide various services, including: hot mix asphalt patching and paving, asphalt seal coating, striping, curbing, concrete flat work, crack filling, drainage and traffic control. We employ approximately 75 people and have offices in North Bend and Tacoma. The company is operational and busy year-round, and is much less seasonal than many competitors in this industry.

Summary of Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced diesel/heavy machinery mechanic who is skilled at inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles, trailers, and equipment related to the asphalt paving industry. Items include dump trucks, 1-ton diesel flatbeds, various pickups and smaller gas vehicles, air brake trailers, electric brake trailers, pavers, rollers, air compressors, skid steers, hydraulic skid steer attachments, and various small engine items. The successful applicant will have experience with the means and methods necessary for repairing and managing the aforementioned items, and in particular, a great attention to detail in record keeping. We provide all tools.

This position is on call with a company truck provided.

This position reports to the Fleet Manager.

This position has a wage range of $22-$35/hour depending on experience and certifications.
